Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ: PhotoStory/PhotoStory Jr./Baby Story/Pet Story

Q

Do I have to use the markers you include in the kit or can I make my drawings with something else?

A

You can use any drawing materials so long as they do not protrude off the page, make the page hard to bend, or crack when bent. In fact, you can even use most scrapbooking materials such as stickers and stamps. Please read the instructions for more information.

Q

Will I get another chance to order reproductions of my book after you produce it?

A

As with all our kits, you are given the option of buying additional reproductions of your item both before and after it is made. Your finished item will be returned with a repurchase form. However, orders for five or fewer additional items are a few dollars less expensive when ordered at the time your item is first produced. PhotoStory Jr. and Pet Story customers should consider not selecting the "return my photos" option if you anticipate ordering extras after receiving your book in order to avoid the hassle and expense of returning them for re-production.

Q

Do I have to use the Scotch Tape included in the kit to tape down my photos or can I use any tape?

A

The Scotch Tape included in the kit is the ONLY kind of tape that can be used to tape down your photos. Other types of tape do not disappear like our Scotch Tape does and visually show up on your pages. Should you run out or need more, Scotch Tape is readily available at most stationary, office supply or drug stores and also can be ordered directly from us (see the "Replacement Material" page). Please note: A good rule of thumb is that if you can visibly see the tape line with your eye, then that is the way it will reproduce.

Q

Can I use a digital printouts of a photograph or a copy of a photo for mail in production?

A

We recommend sending in the original, first generation photograph. The reason for this is when we produce your book, the photo will now be a 3rd or 4th generation copy after our scanning process. The photo may become pixelated, distorted, dark, or the colors may vary, etc. We cannot guarantee the quality of the photo if a digital printout or copy is submitted. We recommend using your digital images with our internet production tools and submitting the order online.
